La Jolla Date Night

Planning a date night in La Jolla? Whether date night is with your significant other, or your besties, you’ll have a fun night.

Isola Pizza Bar
Isola is run by an Italian guy named Massimo, who named the restaurant after his grandmother. He’s serving up authentic and homemade Italian cuisine that will fill your tummy and warm your heart.

I’d suggest starting your visit with happy hour from 3-6. They have great bites and drinks on the happy hour menu. The Bruschetta Burrata is divine! The burrata and artichokes with lemon aioli add such unique flavors to an already beloved dish. When you’re ready for dinner I’d recommend a pizza from their wood-burning oven or a bowl of homemade pasta like the rigatoni bolognese.

The wine here is a must try. These award-winning wines are from the Rinaldi Winery in Italy and is operated by Massimo’s brother, Paolo. I’m big into red blends and really enjoyed this selection.

Bobboi Natural Gelato
Located right near La Jolla cove, this Italian gelato spot is passionate about using fresh ingredients. Owners Marco and Andrea frequent the farmers markets for fresh and organic, locally sourced produce.

Bobboi has many flavors of gelato including Blood Orange, Meyer Lemon and Mint, Charcoal Vanilla, Dark Chocolate, Salted Caramel, and so much more. They have a rotating menu of flavors to please any palate. Personal favorites include the traditional Pistachio and Stracciatella.
